The Castle and the Aeolian Archaeological Museum

The Castle is in the Acropoli, the ancient city centre of Lipari, and it is surrounded by the high
sixteenth century walls.

It is the main attraction of the Eolian cultural life, offering an important
historical itinerary situated in different areas of the museum making it one of the most
famous archaeological museums in Europe.

It is possibile to see a great variety of
exhibits divided up into five different sections that date back thousands of years of the Aeolian history:
Prehistory archaeology, Prehistory of the Smaller Islands, Vulcanology, Classical Archaeology.
