Giuseppe Lisuzzo was born in Cefalù on 6 June 1937.He graduated at the Art School of Palermo with full marks. As a qualified high school teacher he moved to Lipari where he began his teaching career. He was struck by the beauty of the Aeolian landscapes which made him decide to settle on the island.
His paintings on canvas enhance the colours of the islands; the predominant theme is always the blue Aeolian sea and Aeolian sky. The masterpieces on canvas alternate with those on wood.
Pyrography is the technique that Giuseppe uses on wood. It is an old and difficult art that becomes more refined with the passing of time to reach of excellence of his masterpieces. He uses a special tool, pyrograph, which like a pen, with its red hot tip cuts the wood.
Hundreds of the works that can be admired on permanent display in his home, “Villa Alta Marea”, where you can also stop in a cozy and well-kept Bed & Breakfast.
